The Power of Saying Yes And…

The golden rule of improvisation in theatre and comedy is ‘Always say yes and...’ to any idea. Day to day, though, how often might we accidentally shoot down our colleagues and friends’ ideas before they’ve even had a chance to fully appear. Worst still, how often might we do that to ourselves?

In this session Tom combines his experience as a theatre director, communications skills trainer and coach, to offer this fun and interactive workshop which will help you explore what happens when you encourage ideas to flow, whether it’s someone else’s or your own.

As a director Tom has worked with companies such as the Young Vic and Royal Shakespeare Company on productions as varied as locking audiences in steel shipping containers and pop-up operas in Selfridges. He uses his skills as a leader to draw teams of varied people together behind a shared goal, working on bringing out the best performance from each individual and found creative solutions to unexpected challenges.

As a trainer he supports leaders to develop the same abilities within the context of their business, including staying calm under pressure, displaying dynamic presence in presentations, and challenging conversations, drawing forth the potential of diverse teams and finding innovative ways to make the most of opportunities.
