About the Event
Imposter syndrome often leads to self-doubt and a fear of failure, creating internal battles that overshadow our achievements. While the belief that we are inadequate can hinder our progress, the true challenge lies in convincing ourselves that we belong in the race, rather than comparing ourselves to others racing.
Iain, after a 30-year career in the police service, encountered his own imposter narrative when transitioning to a new profession. To his surprise, he was later invited to become an expert advisor to the Chair of the Manchester Arena Inquiry, providing valuable insights into the police response to a terror attack. Him?! Really?! Why?!
Despite his accomplishments, Iain's imposter narrative lingers, albeit in a smaller version. It serves as his check and balance, a reminder of humility, kept in a shiny box.
Join Iain in discussing the impact of the imposter narrative and the benefits of embracing mistakes and failure as valuable opportunities for growth.
